One, Two, Three… by Elodie Nowodazkij
Publication date: June 26th 2014
Genres: Contemporary, Romance, Young Adult

Synopsis:

When seventeen-year-old Natalya’s dreams of being a ballerina are killed in a car accident along with her father, she must choose: shut down—like her mother—or open up to love.

Last year, Natalya was attending the School of Performing Arts in New York City. Last year, she was well on her way to becoming a professional ballerina. Last year, her father was still alive.

But a car crash changed all that—and Natalya can’t stop blaming herself. Now, she goes to a regular high school in New Jersey; lives with her onetime prima ballerina, now alcoholic mother; and has no hope of a dance career.

At her new school, however, sexy soccer player Antonio sees a brighter future for Natalya, or at least a more pleasant present, and his patient charms eventually draw her out of her shell.

But when upsetting secrets come to light and Tonio’s own problems draw her in, Natalya shuts down again, this time turning to alcohol herself.

Can Natalya learn to trust Antonio before she loses him—and destroys herself?

AUTHOR BIO

Elodie Nowodazkij was raised in a tiny village in France, where she could always be found a book in hand. At nineteen, she moved to the US, where she learned she'd never lose her French accent. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Modern Language & Linguistics, and later earned master's degrees in German Cultural Studies and European Studies. Unbeknownst to her professors, she sometimes drafted stories in class. Now she lives in Germany with her husband and their cat (who doesn't seem to realize he's not human), and uses her commuting time to write the stories swirling in her head. She's also a serial smiley user.

A Day in the Life of Elodie Nowodazkij

(Disclaimer: this regular day schedule will change as of October, as it is planned—if all goes well—that we move back to the US).

4.40 a.m.: Wake up and from times to times grumble. I am not always the most gracious before my coffee. On other days though, smile at the hubby who’s also waking up super early to go work out.

4:50 a.m.: Coooooofffeeee.

4.55 a.m.: Settle in front of the computer upstairs, refrain from checking twitter. Refrain. Come on, Elodie, you can refrain yourself. Ok, send a tweet.

5 a.m.: Revise. Revise. Revise.

 Morning revisions.

5.30 a.m.: Grab second cup of coffee and revise.

5.45 a.m.: Check Twitter again. I know, bad.

5.55 a.m: Go back downstairs to eat breakfast.

6.10 a.m.: Shower time.

6.25 a.m.: Finish getting ready and run around, trying to make sure I have everything. From times to times, I do prepare what I need the day before. More often than not, I don’t. If the hubby is around, chit chat and then realize I’m running late.

6.52 a.m: Out of the door. Super precise, because of the train schedule and how long it takes me to walk to the train station. Every minute counts in the morning. Walk to the train station.

7.06 a.m.: If the train is not late :) - time to revise a bit more and read.

7.42 a.m.: Arrival at the train station in Frankfurt, change to the metro, while continuing to read on my Kindle.

8 a.m.: At my desk with yet another coffee I grabbed into the kitchen. The day job can start.

6 p.m.: If all goes well, I leave around 6 p.m., it can be much later.

6.17 p.m.: Hop in the train back to Mainz (again if the train is not late). I tweet a lot of delayed train status updates.

6.52 p.m.: Train arrives at my station in Mainz. Time to walk back to the apartment.

7.05 p.m.: Home sweet home…hubby time :) I am very lucky that most of the times when I come home, dinner is already taken care of and we can just enjoy each other’s company or watch T.V., usually a T.V. show, we usually start watching late and then watch all episodes at once.

9.30 p.m.: Time to sleep (and read) :)
