Review - The Moment Collector by Jodi Lynn Anderson

Title: The Moment Collector
Author: Jodi Lynn Anderson
Pages: 256
Publisher: Orchard Books
Release date: 7th August 2014

Blurb from Goodreads:

"The yard of this house is a graveyard of moments and everything left behind is a clue. And I am here to dig."
There's a ghost haunting 208 Water Street. She doesn't know who she was, or why she's still here. She does know that she is drawn to Maggie, the new girl in town, and her friends - beautiful, carefree Pauline and Liam, the boy who loves her.

But the ghost isn't all that's lurking in Gill Creek... Someone is killing young girls all across the county. Can the ghost keep these three friends safe? Or does she have another purpose?

My Review:

*I received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thanks to Hachette Children's Books*

2.5/5 stars

Maggie isn't happy when her parents move her from Chicago to a little town in the middle of nowhere. She is instantly drawn to Pauline, her next door neighbour, and Liam the guy that has been in love with her for years.
Gill Creek is struck by terror when a series of girls are murdered.
Throughout all this a ghost is drawn to Maggie and watches her.

After really enjoying Tiger Lily I was looking forward to reading The Moment Collector. I was, unfortunately, disappointed.
I liked Maggie, and Pauline and Liam up until a certain point, but the plot was rather predictable.
The murders didn't seem to be a big part of the plot and not a lot was really said/done about them.
One surprise was the identity of the ghost which was revealed at the end of the story and shocked me. It was sad and quite tragic.

Overall this was an okay read but I was disappointed.
